Open Art Supply

Thanks to everyone who donated their art and craft supplies at one of the 12 drop off locations we partnered with, we were able to collect enough supplies donations to make 350 art kits. The kits are being distributed all over the city by 9 peer activist groups. And a huge thank you to the 40 attendees who gave their time and effort to help make this event possible. We also have 4 free store collaborators that you can still drop off and shop from, check out the map.

We’re collecting art supplies in good condition to distribute to people who don’t have easy access to the supplies and tools they need to experiment, to play and simply create something. We believe everybody has the right to engage in the life-giving practice of making art. Read on for more on what we’ll accept, where to bring your contribution and how to get further involved. If you’re an individual that would like to receive art supplies and/or if you’d like to distribute art kits or specific supplies with your mutual aid project, please reach out to info@mututalaidla.com

We’re accepting new or gently used art supplies in good condition:

  • Paintbrushes, paint, canvases
  • Fiber arts materials, thread, beads
  • Sketchbooks, notebooks, and coloring books for adults
  • Glue, pencils, markers, tape
  • Most other art supplies

We can’t accept:

  • Damaged items
  • Clothing/household items
  • Anything that isn’t art supplies 🙂
